In this section you will find information on the types of processes we can carry out, as well as useful instructions, advice and secrets of the trade to obtain the best results from our products and to preserve their beauty over the years.
SURFACE FINISHES
POLISHED
Perfectly smooth and reflective surface, suitable for indoor use, not recommended in public environments due to its high slipperiness.
HONED
Polished and porous surface, smooth to the touch and partially reflective depending on the degree of sanding. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
BRUSHED
Surface with a worn and wavy appearance, an “orange peel” effect that is very pleasant to the touch.
STAIRS FINISHES
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The professional installation of marble agglomerate products requires particular attention.
- All the substrates on which our products will be installed must be perfectly clean, dry and correctly cured, free of dust, oils, grease, waxes or paints.
- Before being installed, we suggest carefully checking the products and verifying the measurements, thicknesses and finishes. The elements must be dry and clean, which is why it is advisable to let the pieces dry perfectly before installation, placing them so that air can circulate on both sides of the material.
- In the event of a large temperature difference between the product storage location and the installation area, we recommend moving the products to the installation location at least one day in advance, in order to avoid thermal shock.
FLOORS
For the installation of marble agglomerate floors, we recommend the use of deformable/elastic glues with rapid setting and hydration applied with the double spreading technique (butter flooring). The grouting of the floors can be carried out after at least 3/4 days, using a specific product for elastic joints.
STEPS
Treads and risers must be perfectly clean and dry with no moisture before being installed. For installation we recommend the use of deformable/elastic glues with rapid setting and hydration applied with the double spreading technique (butter flooring). We recommend providing adequate expansion joints which must be at least 1cm from the side walls and at least 2mm between the tread and riser.
SKIRTINGS
The skirtings must always be laid separately from the floor and steps, using the same glue used for laying the floors and taking care to grout them with an elastic product.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Marble agglomerate products are sensitive to acids. We recommend that neutral pH detergents are always used for cleaning, care and protection of our marble-resin and marble-cement products.
INITIAL CLEANING AFTER INSTALLATION
The first cleaning carried out after installation is essential to guarantee the beauty and durability of the material. For this first intervention, to be carried out as soon as the mortars are completely dry, we recommend the use of a specific product for natural materials (neutral acid-free detergent).
PROTECTIVE TREATMENT
After cleaning, it is recommended to let the surfaces dry perfectly and to apply a water-oil-repellent treatment after at least 24 hours, which will increase resistance to stains and facilitate cleaning of the surfaces.
DAILY CLEANING
To keep agglocement and aggloresin surfaces in perfect condition, we recommend always using only hot water with neutral detergents for natural stones.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For each specific use there is a material that is better suited to that use than another. The physical characteristics, resistance to bending, abrasion, water absorption or anti-slip class are all elements to take into consideration during the design phase.
